About Kerala Houseboats
Kettuvallom (House Boat) is a country boat that was used in the early days for the transport of goods from the isolated interior villages to the towns. With the advent of roads, bridges and ferry services, gradually the Kettuvalloms went off the scene. Now these kettuvalloms are back again as a major tourist attraction. A ride on a Kettuvallom is a fabulous way to explore the fascinating beauty of the backwaters.
A Houseboat is about 67 feet in length and has a width of around 13 feet in the middle. The materials that go into the making are local and ecofriendly; bamboo poles, coconut fibre, ropes, bamboo mats, carpets etc. The main wood used is "Anjili". There are houseboats with fully furnished single room, double room and triple rooms. All of them have sundeck, private balcony with comfortable chairs, kitchen and toilet with w.c. In addition there is a separate rest room for the crew. Traditional lanterns are used as lights. The crew includes a chef, and two oarsmen. The cuisine is of traditional Kerala flavour.
Alongwith the local specialties; delicious fish and prawns. There are single bedroom houseboats for two people and two bedroom houseboats for four people.

ITINERARY:
Guests can check in at 12:00 hrs, we will welcome you with fresh tender coconut water and start cruise after a short briefing introduction, relax and enjoy the canals, rivers and backwater, at 13:00 hrs houseboat will stop for lunch, with lavish menu of traditional Kerala cuisine (if your require any special meals like main food in north Indian or food without spice etc) it has to be informed in advance).
15:00 hrs it will continue its cruise covering beautiful rivers and canals with palm trees and small houses near to it , villages paddy fields, churches, etc, you can also buy fresh prawns or crab or karimeen from local fishermen and give to our chef , who will prepare it for your dinner.
17:30 hrs The houseboat will anchor (till next day morning 07 30) most of the time we will stop near the land because, you can also get a chance to go out and walk along the riverside or villages and come back, Evening Enjoy your Dinner and leave all world behind you and have a good sleep in your floating paradise.
Bed tea / Coffee will be provided, enjoy the sunrise and breath polution free air. At 08:00 hrs Breakfast which includes bread, butter, jam together with Iddily & Dosa etc.
09.30 hrs is the time to check out and end of services in houseboat and leave houseboat with an ever lasting beautiful memory.

KITCHEN:
We have a classy kitchen that is properly protected from hazards by fire proofing and fire extinguishers. The services of professional cooks are available in the kitchen. High quality crockery, cutlery and glassware are used on the boat. The chef onboard is there to relish the appetite of the tourist with traditional Kerala Cuisine consisting of mouth watering delicacies like duck roast, karimeen fry, prawn curry and other special items. ALLEPPY TO KUMARAKOM: This backwater promenade is considered to be one of the major attractions of the land of Freshwaters. The visuals are the similar looking narrow canals between the wide range of Green rice fields and the rustic areas covered with the gorgeous green of the fringed palms. Travelers can get the enlightening of toddy tapping, shellfish gatherers, and village walk, bird's sanctuary (Kumarakom). By the Vembanadu Lake situated an attracting island called Pathiramanal which is a paradise of solitude and the peace for the tourists.
ALLEPPEY TO KOTTAYAM Same visuals of the nature with the confluence of rivers and lagoons.
ALLEPPY TO THOTTAPPALLY: This glide starts from Alleppey through the river pampa, narrow canals and a brief visit to Chavara village, which is known as the sacred birthplace of blessed kuriakos Chavara. In the center of the church visitors can perceive two hundred and fifty years Old house, the epitom of typical, ancient architectural monument. Champakulam- the incredible experience, which offers you, is the snake boat, which is using for the Nehru Trophy Boat Race, the enchanting festival of Kerala in connection with the Onam festival (2nd Saturday of the August). Champakulam church is also an ancient attraction for the tourists (build in AD 427). Then into the Karumadi canal.

- Check in: 12 noon, Check out: 9 AM. One stay is for 21 hrs and not for 24 hrs.
- Beverages & any cook to order will be charged extra on actual.
- The boat will be anchored in the lake or canal during night & will not cruise after 17.30 hrs.
- Air conditioners in the bedroom will be switched on only from 9 PM to 7 AM
- Incase of A/C failure, Non A/C deluxe houseboat tariff will be charged.
